COPARCENARY

Coparcenary is a term which defines a body of persons within a joint family which consists of :

  1. FATHER
  2. SON
  3. SON's SON
  4. SON's SON's SON
In other words, it consists of father and his three male lineal descendants.( a father-son relationship is not necessary)
The rope moves forward when the senior most descendant leaves his body(dies).
for example: A is the father and he has his descendants as B C D E F G, so the Coparcenary will go unto A B C and D,  E F G will exclude. the time when A dies, E will make his place in the Coparcenary.

DAUGHTER HAS ALSO BEEN A COPARCENER BY VIRTUE OF SECTION 6(1) of HINDU SUCCESSION (AMENDMENT) ACT 2005.
